Palliative Care Services

Hospice and Palliative Care are different from one another. Individuals receiving palliative care are still pursuing curative treatments, while the goal of hospice is to provide the maximum amount of comfort along the end of life journey when curative treatment is no longer beneficial. Hospice provides more services than palliative care, but also has more eligibility requirements.

To receive hospice, an individual must have a terminal diagnosis and a life expectancy of less than six months, whereas a person may receive palliative care regardless of life expectancy.

Palliative care could be the right choice if you are still pursuing curative treatment and would like help with pain and symptom management as well as support finding the right community resources to help you on your journey.

Serenity Hospice and Home provides loving and compassionate palliative care services. In addition to in-person visits, there is regular communication by telephone with a Registered Nurse (RN). We also help you to navigate your treatment options while referring you to community resources.

In addition to providing support to you and your family, we communicate and work in conjunction with all your current medical providers. Palliative care provides relief from suffering and helps to enhance the quality of life for patients and their families.
