Serenity Helps Couple Renew Vows

After more than 50 years of marriage, Charles and Marianne Svihlik still look at each other with love. Marianne is a cancer survivor and Charles is a current patient with Serenity Hospice. “Their daughter called me and asked if I would conduct a marriage vow renewal ceremony,” said Serenity Chaplain Willie Little. “I jumped at the chance to meet this special couple and help them with the renewing of their commitments.” Little’s granddaughter, Tiffany, is a nurse with Serenity Hospice and she helped organize the event bringing flowers and cake to the Svihlik’s home which was full of family and friends. The couple were very excited and Marianne looked beautiful in her new dress. “Charles was smiling ear to ear during the entire thing,” said Little. “Their love for each other was evident.” Little says he loves doing his job and finds great satisfaction and fulfillment from helping people see that God is there for them even during their trials and tribulations. The family was full of joy and I felt joy,” said Little. “It is an honor to do what I do.”
